Bloodletting in these Hills

The winner of the 2025 Appalachian Playwriting Festival at the Parkway Playhouse. This was the first set built and designed for this riveting story about Coal Mine unions. I abstracted this space by exposing the framing and dilapidation of the company store that the show takes place in. The company store does not belong to the family that lives inside of it, so abstracting it in this way emphasizes their servitude, instability, and lack of ownership.
