The Minister of Sorrow

This was the first set I built for Parkway Playhouses Appalachian Playwriting Festival. It is always a pleasure to build an outdoor space inside. These fabulous trees are old parkway stock and predate me. I love to use them whenever I can because they are surprisingly light and very effective. In the nature of Appalachian storytelling, we had audience members sit on stage to create a sense of immersion.
