Creating a cohesive vision takes collaboration and versatility of skills. It is beautiful to see a group of people use their individual skill sets collaboratively to produce stunning works of art like this. The theater exemplifies how powerful a group of artists can be.

Starting with a design, the world begins to take shape. The director and I devised a skeletal box set. We did so by removing the walls while leaving the wainscoting trim and stained-glass windows. I created faux stained glass using layers of wood and theatrical gel. I love to hide symbolism in my work. I hid apple blossoms in the stained glass to represent the arsenic that is found in apple seeds. I used green in the trim and stained glass to reference Scheele's green, an infamous green made in the Victorian era that contained high levels of arsenic. Celtic knots in the stained glass represent the aunts' Celtic heritage in the show. I loved working on this show, and it was absolutely hilarious.
